Who is SpeechToys for?
SpeechToys is for families, speech pathologists, educators, occupational therapists and others looking for toys and games that create useful opportunities for communication, play and learning.
Are these speech therapy products?
Some products may be designed specifically for educational or professional use, while many are ordinary toys and games selected because they can be used in lots of useful ways.
How does SpeechToys choose products?
We look for products with useful opportunities for communication, language, play, social interaction, reasoning or executive-function activities. We also consider practical factors such as replay value, portability and how easily an activity can be made simpler or more challenging.
Will these products improve my child's speech or language?
Children's needs and development vary considerably. SpeechToys does not promise that purchasing or using a particular product will produce a particular speech, language or developmental outcome.
Can SpeechToys replace seeing a speech pathologist?
No. SpeechToys provides products and general activity information. It does not provide individual assessment, diagnosis or therapy through the store.
Are the activity ideas individual clinical advice?
No. Activity suggestions on SpeechToys are general information and are not individualised recommendations.
How do I know whether a toy is suitable?
Always review the manufacturer's recommended age, product information and safety warnings. Suitability can also depend on an individual's abilities and circumstances. Adult supervision should be used where appropriate.
Where do you ship?
SpeechToys currently ships within Australia only.
How much is shipping?
Standard shipping is $11 AUD. Standard shipping is free on orders of $100 AUD or more.
Will everything arrive in one parcel?
Not always. Some products may be fulfilled directly by approved suppliers. If products in an order come from different fulfilment locations, they may arrive separately.
Can I return an item?
Yes. Our Shipping & Returns page explains change-of-mind returns and what to do if an item is faulty, damaged or incorrect. Your rights under Australian consumer law are not limited by our voluntary return policy.
Do you sell sensory or occupational-therapy products?
Our main focus is communication, language and play. We may also include selected movement, regulation or fine-motor products where there is a clear communication or collaborative-play use rather than trying to become a general sensory-toy store.
